Ordering:

How do I place an order?
The easiest way to order is via the website at www.nearlynakedveg.co.uk. Just go to 'Our Veg Boxes' page and follow the links. You will be able to set up an account and place a one-off order or a regular order - whichever you prefer! You will need a valid email address to do this but this is our preferred way of ordering.

You can also order over the telephone if you prefer by calling 01364 646106. We are often out in the fields during the day, but just leave your contact details and we will call you back. Alternatively send us an email with your contact details and we will call or email you back. For security reasons please do not send any card details by email.

When is the latest that I can place an order?
For the Weekday Box - Order up to 10am Monday for Tuesday delivery. Orders place after 10am Monday will be delivered a week on Tuesday.
For the Sunday Roast Box or Sunday Veg Box - order up to midday Thursday for Saturday delivery. Orders placed after midday Friday or on Saturday morning will be delivered the following Saturday.

I placed an order over the website but I wish to cancel it. How do I do this?
Your payment will be taken when you place your order and so we are unable to cancel it. We can, however, delay delivery to another day for you if you prefer, perhaps the following week. If you would like to cancel a repeat order then simply log onto you account using your email address and password and go to 'my account' where you can manage your order. All regular orders must be cancelled at least 48 hours prior to the next delivery date to avoid being charged.

I would like to place a regular order for a Week Day / Sunday Roast / Veg Box – is that possible?
Absolutley! Simply go to ou website at www.nearlynakedveg.co.uk. Choose your item, place it in your basket, and go through to the checkout. Once you have logged on (as an exisitng customer or set up an account as a new customer) you will be abel to choose whether your order is a one-off or regular order.

I have a regular order, but am sometimes away and so won't need the veg. Can I cancel it for a week ?
Definitely. Simply log on at www.nearlynakedveg.co.uk and go to my account. You are then able to manage your order, cancel a weeks order or cancel the regular order completely if you wish.

I want to order a Sunday Roast Box, how do I know what meat is available this week and do I have a choice?
If you are placing a one-off order then you are able to choose the meat you wish to have. If you are placing a regular order then the meat will be whichever you have chosen when you placed your initial order. If you would like to change the meat each week, then simply log into your account at www.nearlynakedveg.co.uk and go to My account. From here you will be able to change the meat delivered on individual weeks so you can still get some variety!

Questions - Payments

I have set up a regular order on the website - when does my payment get taken for each box?
The payment for your first box will be taken when you place the order. For each subsequent box, payment will be taken at least 48 hours prior to the delivery day. This is to enable us to rectify any problems which may occur with payment prior to delivery.

Can I pay by cash on delivery?
We prefer all payments to be made via the website to ensure than deliveries are made as quickly and efficiently as possible - it also means we don't have to carry any cash on the van during the day.
If there is a reason why you are really not able to do this then please give Sam a call at the office on 01364 646106 or email info@nearlynakedveg.co.uk and she will go through the options with you.

Who processes your on-line payments for you and are my details safe?
All our online payments are taken through Sage Pay (formerly Protx), who achieve the highest level of compliance under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI). Adhering to the most stringent levels of fraud screening, ensuring that your details remain secure throughout the transaction process. We wouldn't trust anyone else!

Questions - Delivery

Is there a delivery charge?
We do not charge for delivery – we are out and about anyway so why should you have to pay!

When do you deliver?
Our Week Day Box will be delivered on Monday.
The Sunday Roast Box will be delivered on Saturday.

As we (hopefully) get busier then we may deliver across two days depending on where you live. We will, of course, let you know of any changes like this before we make them!

Do I have to have the box delivered or can I collect it from you?
Due to restrictions on the amount of time we can hold the meat on our premises, the Sunday Roast Box must be delivered to you. We will, however, have the Week Day Box available to collect from our site at the Turtley Corn Mill in Avonwick if you would prefer. If you would like to take advantage of this then please let us know by making a note in the order notes when you place the order (also where you let us know of the safe place to leave your box if you are out).

Produce:

How often and what time do you deliver?
The Week Day box is delivered on Tuesday. The Sunday Roast/Veg Box is delivered on Saturday. It is difficult for us to be specific about what time we will deliver, but when you place your order you are able to specify a safe place for us to leave the box if you are out.

Where is your produce grown?
We have fields all over the South Hams. If you would like more details then just call or drop us an email!

Do you grow everything yourself or do you buy from other growers?
Occasionally we will buy produce from other carefully chosen local farmers. We will always inform you in the newsletter and/or on the website of anything that we have bought in. All of our meat comes from J Carders in Plymstock.

How do I know the produce grown is fresh?
That is our guarantee to you. We are passionate about our food and we will not deliver to you anything that we wouldn't be happy with ourselves. And we are fussy!

What about the meat, where does that come from?
We use J carders at Plymstock for for our Sunday Roast meat. They guarantee all of their meat is from the Westcountry (so of course it must be good!) and are as strict with its quality as we are with our veg. Everything comes wrapped in peach paper and string, rather than vacuum packed, to protect the meat and its flavours. Plus, we think it is kinder to the environment than all that plastic!

Our meat boxes are sourced from Gribbles Butchers. Please Click Here to view a pdf document with information on them and the farmers they source their meat from.

The Company:

What does 'The Nearly Naked Veg Company' mean?
Our veg are as naked as possible because we do not spray them with any chemicals unless we absolutley have to. In essence, we operate a spray to cure policy rather than a spray to prevent policy. This means maximum productivity for minimal sprays. For more information on this please see the 'about nearly naked veg' page or call Ben or Tom who just love to talk about the farm!

Where do your staff come from?
The majority of the work is done by Ben and Tom in the fields, and Sam in the office. During the picking season of course, we need extra staff. When this is the case we employ local people on a week by week basis meaning that we are able to keep costs down.

Questions - When the best laid plans somehow fail…

What do I do if my vegbox hasn't arrived when I expected?
The first thing to do is to call the office on 01364 646106 and speak to Sam. She will do her best to track down the problem and help resolve it. If there is no answer, do not panic, but leave a message on the answerphone and we promise that we will call you back.

Please bear in mind that it is very difficult for us to specify the time that we will deliver due to the sheer volume of boxes we handle. Week Day Box deliveries are handled on a Tuesday, whilst Sunday Roast Box deliveries are sent out on Saturday.

What do I do if there is a problem with the produce?
If for any reason you are not happy with the quality of the produce then please call us on the day of your delivery or at least within 12 hours of its' delivery. It is very difficult for us to rectify anything after this time. We also can't fix a problem we don't know about so please do let us know if you are unhappy with any aspect of the service.
