Product Information

Our boxes consist of seven main vegetables with one or two seasonal extras. You can specify the number of people that need to be fed from the box from either our 'Sunday Roast Box' or 'Week Day Box' box options. This allows us to adjust the content of your box to ensure food waste is kept to a minimum. Our aim is always to pick the vegetables the day prior to delivery to your door in order to optimise freshness. We will never, ever spray them with anything to keep them fresh artificially - we find a fridge works just as well!

Of course, there are some things that we are unable to grow ourselves. In this case, we will work with carefully chosen local farmers who share our philosophy for vegetable production to ensure good variety within the boxes and to further promote the local farming community.

We will inform you in every vegetable box on the success of our current crops, chemical applications (if we have had to use them), future crop progress and seasonal changes to our crop availability so you know exactly where your veg have been!

Where we offer additional products they will always be sourced locally from suppliers or farmers that we know well. We don’t trust just anybody with our custom!

The meat in the Sunday Roast Box comes from J Carders butchers at Plymstock. Alan, one of the bosses, guarantees that all of the meat is from the Westcountry. If we ask him (and we do) then he can normally even tell us the farm which it has come from. That's the kind of passion we insist on when we work with other companies!

Delivery Information

We deliver to the South Hams, Plymouth and Newton Abbott areas. There is no delivery charge.

  • The Week Day Box is delivered on a Tuesday
  • The Sunday Roast Box is delivered on a Saturday

If you order both the Week Day Box and the Sunday Roast Box then we will deliver both to you at the same time, on Saturday.

Deliveries are made by our own drivers, never by courier. We like to make sure our veg are properly looked after all the way to your door!

We organise our deliveries depending on where we need to deliver to, which of course changes each week! Our aim is to reduce food miles and to ensure your veg gets to you in the best possible condition, so if you have a regular order with us then your box may be delivered at a slightly different time each week.

Terms & Conditions

Our terms and conditions are relatively straight forward. If you place an order and pay for goods with us then we promise to deliver the best quality veg boxes that we can. However, there are certain things that those legal types say we need to qualify. So….

We endeavour to make sure that the information on our website is correct, but we cannot accept responsibility if, despite our best endeavours, this is not the case.

When you place an order via the website, or on the phone, you are offering to enter into a contract with us. If you later cancel that order, then you will be liable to pay any card charges which we have incurred from our secure payment provider, along with any other cost already incurred by us. Any cancelled orders must be made, in writing (email is fine) and received at least 48 hours before your delivery day.

All payments should be made at the time of the order. In the case of a regular order, then we will take payment for the first box at the time of ordering. Subsequent boxes will be charged for approximately 48 hours prior to delivery. We have chosen to use Sagepay as our payment system and this works quite simply, within our own website. You can be confident in the knowledge that your card details are 100% secure. We have chosen to do things this way to make the process as seamless and pain free as possible for both you and us. We do not accept cheque payments unless by prior arrangement.

We do not charge for delivery and because of this we insist that additional products (such as eggs) cannot be purchased without the purchase of a veg box.

Any cancellations of an order must be made within 48 hours of the delivery date.

We will do everything in our power to ensure that the products we supply you with are of the quality you expect and delivered in a timely manner if appropriate. If however, this is not the case, then please contact us in line with our refund policy to enable us to rectify the situation.

It is important for you to know that nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. If you would like more information on your statutory rights, it is best to contact your local Trading Standards Office (www.tradingstandards.gov.uk) or Citizens Advice Bureau (www.citizensadvice.org.uk).

Returns Policy

We want you to be as pleased with your veg as possible, and we are confident that you will be. However, as we deal with fresh produce, sometimes strange things can happen. In this case, we would ask that you let us know as soon as possible so we can fix it. If you are unhappy with the quality of the veg in particular, then please let us know within 12 hours of delivery so we can replace it or credit you promptly if we need to.

Payments Terms

All payments should be made at the time of the order. We are also pleased to accept regular payments for those of you who want us to deliver every week without you having to think about it! In this case, we would suggest you order one box first of all (either through the website or give us a call), just to make sure that it is what you will expect. Then, we can set up a regular payment agreement over the phone, or via our website.

Privacy Statment

We will never, ever, give, sell or swap any of the information that you give to us with anyone else.

We may store your name, address and order details to enable us to process your order efficiently. Any card details will not be retained by ourselves.

We may, occasionally, send you information on our own products and services or those from our linked companies (Turtley Corn Mill, Avonwick or Bistro Bacchanalia, Sutton Harbour), including new offerings (we do get very excited about them!) as well as special offers.
